Letters from our politicians - 1 (Karen Sinclair)

Karen Sinclair has been jumping to conclusions... I have it on good authority that Maurice Jones was not the author of a letter to the Evening Leader, written by one of the many other M Joneses who might share such views, in which Karen Sinclair was criticised. Anyway, that aside, this week our Karen has hit back.

In a reply to the Leader, Karen explains how she wrote letters about Hafod ages ago. She says: "It may come as a surprise to Mr Jones to learn that a great deal of hard work has been done by a number of individuals over a long period of time on this issue and not all of it gets to be made public." Karen has made jolly sure that her recent commitment to Hafod has been made public - signing the petition and suchlike.

As far as I am aware, most of the criticism of Karen relates to her lack of concrete involvement in the campaign since the Quarry opened for landfill and since her fellow Labour AM Carwyn Jones was asked to revoke. Hafod campaigners are particularly annoyed because of Karen's fine words about how she was going to support the people of Johnstown. In case anyone has forgotten, she said:

"Make no mistake, I will help ensure a very close eye is kept on them at all times and will work closely with the Environment Agency to make sure that they adhere in every respect to the conditions set out in the licence. The safety of residents is paramount and I will be taking every opportunity to ensure that this comes first and no breaches occur."

The people of Johnstown are wondering why they have been left to stand at the quarry gates every day to monitor the situation and to report repeated breaches to the Environment Agency, the council etc. It's best not to make promises you can't or won't keep, Karen. This is the sort of thing which goes against you at election time.

Look out for the next instalment in this series over the weekend; the Lib Dems have finally broken their silence...

Sinclair doesn't break wind without putting out a press release - the problem is that she's been doing that (and little else) for the past seven years. Isn't it time someone else had a go at that job, Karen?
I'm sure we can find someone else who can chew gum and talk at the same time.

Can I just say this is a disgraceful site. How dare you attack hard working councillors and worst of all our Assembly Member. Karen Sinclair is an unsung hero and has worked diligently on this issue. Rather than criticise her, praise her for the work she's done. She has a file an inch thick on the matter, she has influenced Carwyn Jones decision and perhaps one day you ungrateful shower will have cause to thank her. Just don't coming running to us when you've got a problem in the future

Councillor Nick Colbourne

Karen Sinclair shouldn't accuse people she doesn't like of writing letters.
Maurice was NOT the author but there has been no retraction or rincindification of the comments made even though she knows they're wrong.
In fact, her lies about Maurice are printed a second time in the Wrexham Leader. This proves to me that even when she knows something is wrong there is no attempt made to rectify it. That justice is one she has the immediate power to enforce yet she has chosen not to.

I have no interest in how many inches her file is, or how much work she's doing behind the scenes, all I care about is the results.
If Carwyn Jones revokes the planning permission then she may've done enough work to just about save her seat, if she doesn't then we know that she's been wasting her time.
As far as Nick Coulbourne is concerned, I can't understand why he ever became a councillor? He hides behind conflicts of interest and then blatently refuses to help his electorate.
This really is Maurice Jones by the way!

A Johnstown resident who met Karen Sinclair this morning said "if there was an election tomorrow and they stood a pig against you, Karen, the pig would win." Trotters down, presumably.

Nick Colbourne,
You said

"Just don't coming running to us when you've got a problem in the future"

This is an absolutely disgraceful statement coming from a local councillor. You have publicly displayed a policy of discrimination over who you will listen to in the future.
You are not fit to be a councillor with this kind of attitude.
It also reveals that your anti quarry stand is little more than a cynical attempt to gain votes next time round...forget it.There are too many people lining up for your role next time round.

Nick Colbourne,

You call this site disgraceful but can I put it to you that you belong to a disgraceful political party,New Labour.
It may have escaped your notice but by implication you have on your hands the blood of over 500,000 Iraqi's.
Please don't be a hypocrite and say you were against the Iraqi war.
Disagreement with the very people you serve in no way makes up for your lack of moral fibre or christian values.
Any member of the New Labour party who had any moral fibre left would have ripped up their membership cards the minute Iraq was invaded, this goes for yourself ,Sinclair,Jones and Lewis.
Any person who remained a member of New Labour after witnessing the Shock and Awe bombing of Baghdad and the destruction of Fallujah is pretty much by definition a totally "disgraceful" human being.
By remaining a mamber of New Labour you had a direct involvment in the military murder of children,I certainly hope you can sleep at night mate

So there you have it Nick, you along with your New Labour counterparts are quite disgusting human beings.
So when you come on this site and call it "disgraceful",it doesn't bother me too much because at least the people here subscribe to a code of morality that has it's basis in a moral code far superior to anything you or your New Labour mates could ever aspire to.

Regards
A. Christian

In reply to Nick Colbourne, if as he states this is a disgraceful site then ordinary people are disgraceful.
That is no suprise coming from a Labour councillor when in the past his fellow councillors have referred to the people in one district as filth and openly stated in the Guildhall that they do not have to listen to these people meaning their constituents.
As for running to them in the future when we have a problem that is a sick joke as they have proved by their inaction they are in the hands of big business and act on their behalf.

Council elections take place in May 2008, so Nick Colbourne has about 19 months to go before he loses his £10,000 a year allowance.

The people who run this site are bigots. They delete posts that disagree with their point of view.
