From tonight's Evening Leader:

Karen Sinclair, AM for Clwyd South, said: “I am furious at the Minister’s decision not to quash the planning permission on the Hafod site and bitterly disappointed he has let the decision of the local authority stand.”

Could it be that Karen is furious because this will cost her a place on the Cardiff Bay gravy train next May? Martyn Jones seems less bothered. He says he will use his "contacts" to stop Merseyside... something he was talking about three months ago. What exactly have you done, Martyn?

Martyn Jones, MP for Clwyd South said: “Obviously this is very disappointing news. I hoped the Assembly Minister would have overturned the council’s decision.

“The fact remains, however, that the actual culprits in all of this are Merseyside local authorities and their virtually complete dependence on landfilling their waste.

“I will be working to put as much pressure as I possibly can on those local authorities, and, via my contacts with DEFRA ministers, to ensure that all those authorities on Merseyside recycle considerably more of their waste, and end the plight of people in Johnstown.”

Wondered how long before the whineing Labour lot started scratching their own faces? Oh how awful, how tragic; how typical of their party ?

Influence? Sinclair and Martyn can't influence their own party to rethink Hafod, what chance of influencing the greedy corporate business minds of MWH?
Wake up Martyn, it's an EGO TRIP to think any of them listen to you.

How can these two pretend to be alarmed at the outcome? They must have anticipated their pal Carwyn's obvious distain for the people of North Wales.

If the decision on Hafod came down to a 'balance' of profit over people, it's no surprise that Labour decided in favour of profit.

I agree with Carl, it is TYPICAL, of Labour to act against the people who vote for them whilst claiming to be shocked at their own party's treacherous actions.

They could resign in protest!
Somehow, I don't think they will.

Sinclair speaks with forked tongue - in Cardiff she does nothing to stop landfill while up here she's furious with the minister.
Same thing with the new Wxm-London railway service - up here she says she's been pushing it for months but in Cardiff she voted against giving the service the money needed to create 50 jobs and boost the economy.
She thinks we're too thick to check Assembly debates against her press releases, but we're not all at your level Karen.

I think theres absolutly nothing you can do about the quarry and land fill site. So why dont you just learn to live and deal with it.
