Bird Man of Hafod!

From the MWH website ...

The Group recognises that its employees are its biggest asset and is an accredited Investors in People organisation. The Group's Training and Development Policy ensures its employees are provided with opportunities for training, not only to ensure they have the correct knowledge and expertise to carry out their job safely and efficiently, but to promote personal development.

Yeah, right!

Well I wouldn't deploy my biggest asset in a glorified smock, ripped waterproof leggings and a pair of over sized gloves to pick wet sponges off a dirty road in the pouring rain!

The idiot may be making the road safer by removing the sponges and debris, but people are going off the road pissing themselves laughing at him flapping all over the verge like big bird.

That's not very constructive is it?

The ole lad has had a bit of a rough ride since taking his thirty pieces of silver from Hafod.

First he has his unroadworthy, death trap of a sweeper reported to the Police and VOSA, then he was sent off the site with a yard brush (and later I believe with a dust pan and brush!) and now he's the butt of everybody's joke having being caught trying to fly away from Hafod down the B5426.

C'mon, give the guy a break - it's not his fault!

But it clearly is his fault, he could get a real job and he could have listened in school it’s typical of you Hafodblogger to cut him some slack you are overflowing with the milk of human kindness.

Maybe it would be an idea for M W H to provide him with a small van.
This would enable him to pick up the broken plastic bucket, heaps of rubbish and plasic bags that were lying on the north bound carriageway of the A483 half a mile from the Hafod slip road last week.

Note, not a police car in sight but of course that is not their responsibilty is it?

They've given him a coat with a hole in it so I think a small van is completely out of the question!

... and if they did it would have only three wheels, no lights and he'd have to push the ****** to get it started!

I've got a job! Thankfully its flexible and allows me to help my 'good neighbours' stay within their PPC and therefore keep all you Waste Numpty's in work!

Hafod Time should be tax deductible!

Yes Anonymous, in common with yourself there are 8m people in the U K who are not economically active (i.e. not gainfully employed) usually overweight and customers of McDonalds and K F C who keep landfill sites in business.

Maybe M W H have a vacancy for someone like you, a born waster.

Nancy, face it love ... I AM NOT WORKING! Your doing it for me ... I'm a fool!

No you are a drone and a burden on society, that is if society is worthy of the title with people like you.

At least those employed on the waste site are working and paying tax and insurance to keep people like you on subsistance.

Don't think that I agree with what is going on there but your kind contribute nothing but idleness and you need to pull yourselves together for the only one who will gain from your lifestyle will be the undertaker.

Your potty woman - I walk four miles a day with my dog, am just 10lbs over weight for my height, have no stress and don't drink or smoke - I think the undertaker had better be patient if he wants my business!

There you go again. Never let facts get in the way of a crap story.
If that is the sweeper driver in the picture look back to your 'spot the difference' post.
Does it say MWH on the sweeper?
So it isn't down to MWH to suply P.P.E..

At Saturday, July 14, 2007 5:47:00 PM, Blogger HafodBlogger said...

There you go again. Indeed mate, indeed!

Why take the blame if there is somebody else to pass it onto!

IF MWH were a company with any semblance of a post Victorian ethos they would ensure the sweeper THEY employ was fit for the road THEY deploy it on; if they were really committed to personal development / staff being the biggest asset etc then surely they would not send this poor chap out onto the road in his smock and over sized gloves in the pouring rain!

It's all too easy isn't it - it wasn't me, it's not my fault, they should do it etc etc - a house built on these principles (or lack thereof) often falls down in the medium to long term. Watch this space!

That is my point. He is not staff.

(Now you really can't answer that can you; you're an order follower not a policy maker aren't you!)

I am not sure that 'nobody' has ever heard of us.

Notwithstanding (hic, Dull trips off to his dictionary!), I agree our marketing / PR of the issue isn't great.

It doesn't make us wrong though!

The employer of the sweeper driver are under the same obligation as M W H to supply P P E and to observe the H & S Act.

It is also the responsiblity of M W H to ensure that any person or company employed directly or indirectly by them is in compliance with that legislation.

Otherwise they are breaking the law and should be reported

At Sunday, July 15, 2007 2:28:00 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

So what laws was he breaking?

I didn't mean the protest was not known. I meant the members were not known. Seeing as they are allegedly local doesn't this seem strange?

How many of you people on either side of this dispute allow your bin to overflow because you buy packaged food and waste more than you consume?

You then complain to the press because your bin is not emptied every week, why don't you look at your own overweight lifestyle before blaming everyone else?

You are the real problem!

At Sunday, July 15, 2007 3:46:00 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Always thought that fat people were a problem!

At Sunday, July 15, 2007 4:58:00 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

No annie the landfill is the problem

At Sunday, July 15, 2007 5:14:00 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Yes and they contribute towards it in a big,big way, see them walking through the streets eating fast food and then look at their overflowing bins.

They even have to buy 4x4 vehicles to carry their huge frame about and all they do is complain, so please don't defend them.

There is no point debating with you. You just turn to insults because you have no arguements.
You would better stick to masterbating.

For all of wondered (me included) ...

Hobo is a term that refers to a subculture of wandering homeless people. The iconic image of a hobo is that of a downtrodden, shabbily-dressed and perhaps drunken male.
